How long does it take to have my video online?
Encoding video takes time and of course depends of the size, format and quality of your original. Obviously, the larger the video the more time it takes.
After the upload of your video file, count 2 minutes encoding for 1 minute of original video material.
After the conversion, a publication process will check that your video is ok and will send you an email as soon as it is published.
What video formats can I upload?
To ensure we publish videos in the best possible quality we highly recommend that you use the following video formats (deinterlaced and without any DRM): mp4, mov, m4v, divx, mpeg, avi, dv, high quality flv.
How can I see my video published online more quickly?
- You can first convert it on your own computer using the free application MPEG StreamClip, that can be downloaded here. The settings you need to use are as follows:
- Compression: H264 MPEG-4
- Size: 640x360 for 16:9 ratio (or 640x480 for 4:3 ratio)
- Quality: best with multipass encoding
- Datarate (bit rate): max 1150kbps (min 900 kbps)
- Sound: AAC Stereo 44,100khz 128kbps
- Deinterlace video: yes (very important)
- Fast Start: Yes (very important to ensure that your video doesn't fully download prior playing)
- Don't try to publish one long video, split it in different episodes.
- Be sure to have an original video in a compatible format and 640px width minimum.
Why is one of my video no longer published or offline?
This means that your video has a problem in terms of content, quality or it that it doesn't respect our User Terms of Service.
Please send a email to upload@freecaster.com
How can I upload a video bigger then my limit?
You cannot upload a file that exceeds the limit you're assigned at the start of a new upload. If your file is too big, you can cut it in smaller videos or send an upgrade request to upload@freecaster.com.
