Upload Process

What are the meanings of the upload statuses?

  1. Processing: Your video is being processed (uploading the file, converting). Thanks for your patience.
  2. Video size too small: Your video is smaller then 640px width. This video will not be published on Freecaster.tv. We expect original files to be at least 640px width to provide an acceptable quality.
  3. Waiting for publication: Your video seems ok for publication, it should be online soon. Videos that are ready for publication are published automatically regularly.
  4. Online: Your video is online, it can be watched on Freecaster.tv
  5. Offline: Your video is offline, it cannot be watched on Freecaster.tv

How long does it take to have my video online?

Encoding video takes time and of course depends of the size, format and quality of your original. Obviously, the larger the video the more time it takes.
After the upload of your video file, count 2 minutes encoding for 1 minute of original video material.
After the conversion, a publication process will check that your video is ok and will send you an email as soon as it is published.

What video formats can I upload?

To ensure we publish videos in the best possible quality we highly recommend that you use the following video formats (deinterlaced and without any DRM): mp4, mov, m4v, divx, mpeg, avi, dv, high quality flv.

How can I see my video published online more quickly?

Why is one of my video no longer published or offline?

This means that your video has a problem in terms of content, quality or it that it doesn't respect our User Terms of Service.

How can I upload a video bigger then my limit?

You cannot upload a file that exceeds the limit you're assigned at the start of a new upload. If your file is too big, you can cut it in smaller videos or send an upgrade request to upload@freecaster.com.
