Kayak Freestyle Worlds 2009

Then it was the womens turn. Emily Jackson got the 1st place. Right behind her came Ruth Gordon on 2nd and Tanya Faux on 3rd place

C1 came next and it was again a feast of aerial moves, the C1 seems to be always a crowd pleaser and in that league Dave Bainbridge from England got his load of applause, beating Guillaume Larue and Frenchman Alex Jackett, to get the gold.

Then it was the Junior Men’s turn; And Jason Craig Killed it. Despite really solid runs from all other finalists, Jason this week was one level higher than everyone. For the record, he would have been placed third in the senior men’s class…

The final day started with Junior Ladies, and once again Nouria Newman showed incredible talent. She would have been placed second in the senior girls finals…

The Kayak Freestyle Wolrds 2009 in Thun are over. The weather gods were kind and the weekend of the ICF World Freestyle Championships in Thun was pleased with sunshine and good water levels.

Nicholas Troutman (CAN) won the K1 men’s final with a sensational run (and historic 1,510,000 points against former world champion Eric Jackson (USA).  

Eric Jackson (USA) wins the 2nd place at the Kayak Freestyle Wolrds 2009 in Thun with 958,333 points.

Stephen Wright (USA) wins the 3rd place at the Kayak Freestyle Wolrds 2009 in Thun with 790,000 points.

Emily Jackson won the K1 women’s final also very decisively before Ruth Gordon (CAN) and Tanja Faux (AUS).
