In the final event of the first ever Winter X Games Europe in Tignes, France Iouri Podladtchikov, who won silver at Winter X Games 14 in Aspen, has taken gold in the men's snowboard superpipe with an impressive 98.00 score. Mathieu Crepal took silver with a 95.00 and Louie Vito took bronze with 92.33.

It was a nail biting final with riders falling as they tried to out boost each other; Louie Vito attacked the pipe hard and landed 3 double corks in one run, which is a first for the X Games! This however wasn't enough to beat Iouri as he stomped the double mctwist, a trick he only learnt a week ago; and if that wasn't enough he also hinted that he has another unrevealed double trick that he will add to his run at the Burton US Open.

Switzerland’s Iouri Podladtchikov returned from Winter X Games 14 with a silver medal, a fourth place finish from the Olympics in Vancouver, and can now add gold to that list from his win today at Winter X Games Europe. France’s Mathieu Crepel, who finished tenth at the Vancouver Olympics, was close behind to land the silver.
 
“The Double McTwist 1260 is a trick I started training for last week,” Podladtchikov said about a trick that won him the competition. “After the Olympics, I took one week off to rest, and started to practice the McTwist, so landing it tonight was a gift.”
 
Crepel was at the top of his progression in 2007 where he landed the first ever frontside 1260 in Big Air history, and he pulled it out again in tonight’s final.  USA’s Louie Vito took home the bronze with the first ever double cork 1080 done three times in a row.
 
“Being in my home country of France does add some pressure,” Crepel said about performing in France. “All the media and fans here in France has been amazing, and you want to do the best you can in front of them.”

    shaun white claims the double mctwist but he wasnt the first... KP had it way before white even wet his bed dreaming about it !!! ipods double mctwist was massive, way better than shawns at the end of the pipe !!! great first winter x games europe !!! lov

    shaun doesent invented nothing....snowboard pioniers are others...but this is just my opinion...i concluded sayng: i pod is a machine....just for pipe riding...in a slopestyle it wasn't stylish and he didnt nothing...amazing rider...but is a amachine
